All hire props returned at end of hire are required to undergo a maintenance check carried out by Shisham employees trained in maintenance and manufacture of the original square props before they are placed back in the hire stock.
The following procedures are required to be followed to ensure the hire stock is at a safe and satisfactory working condition.
1. Feet: Check for damage and wear. Clean off soil or concrete if req.
2. Bolts: Check for damage and wear, replace as required.
3. Bush: Check for damage and wear. Oil and ensure easy rotation.
4. Welding: Check for damage and structural integrity.
5. Oil Holes: Ensure holes are clear and free of any foreign material. Apply sufficient oil to lubricate.
6. Threads: Check for damage and wear. Oil and make sure full thread is available for adjustment.
7. Inner Tube: Check for damage. Ensure Inner tube travels from fully closed to fully extended with no impediments.
8. Outer Tube: Check for damage.
9. Miss Match: Check that inner tube and outer tube are the same model and have not been miss matched on site.
10. Inspection Holes: Ensure holes are clear and free of any foreign material.
11. Permanent Tags: Check that tags are in place on both inner and outer tubes.
12. Inspection Sticker: Apply yellow inspection sticker and insert date of inspection and initials of employee responsible for maintenance.
